Technical details

AmberPic uses WebAssembly to run compression codecs directly in your browser. For JPG we use MozJPEG, for PNG we use OxiPNG, and for WebP/AVIF we use the official codecs from Google and Alliance for Open Media. All processing happens in your device RAM — nothing is ever sent to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose quality when compressing? ▼
It depends on the format. JPG and WebP use lossy compression, but you can control the quality level (0-100). PNG uses lossless compression, so there is no visual quality loss.
What is the file size limit? ▼
100MB per file, up to 100 files per batch. This is enough for the vast majority of use cases.
